A clear, glossy, pale yellow color. A very subtle and expressive nose, combining floral notes and hints of citrus and menthol. Rich on the palate, ranging from white fruit to mineral notes. A young wine which will benefit from aging, but is beautifully balanced.
Chablis 1er Cru Montée de Tonnerre
Domaine Massin vines boast a truly exceptional location with the Montée de Tonnerre vineyards directly adjacent to the Grand Crus. The small vineyard of just over one acre of 40 year olds vines rests on Portlandian clay and limestone soils with vine density of 8500 vines per hectare.
Hand-harvested with cold static settling. Vinified in thermoregulated stainless steel vats with neutral selected yeasts followed by spontaneous malolactic fermentation. 8 months in vats on the lees which are stirred for enhanced soft fullness and complexity. Fined and filtered prior to bottling.
An incredibly versatile wine that pairs beautifully with scallops, grilled fish, poultry dishes, pork, escargot and tomato based cuisine.
Drinks well now but has aging potential through the next six years. Serve chilled at 50-52°F.
